Settling in for days of rain and cloud.

Our first April in Maine (1990) seemed cold.  As we found out in most of the following spring transitions, coastal Maine is always cold (cool) in April.  The ocean is cold and gives only biting cool in the warmest summer days.

P.S. Much of May is the same.

So what is my point? I should not expect anything other than as above. My eighteen Aprils in Minnesota, four in South Dakota and eight in Nebraska gave swings of north wind cold to south wind warmth. The farm land and black soil warmed each sunny day.  The Gulf of Maine and Casco Bay do not.
