 When I put up a post on this WEEKLYABCXYZ.blogspot.com I often use my cell phone.

Why? At camp without Wi-Fi there is no other option. Does that mean I edit better? Not always. So I am home, I have options and keyboard is the option right now.

Do I have any topics? Yes, one a kayak adventure.  Last Thursday we had a significant gushing rain followed by a frontal passage and strong winds. The wind was NNW and gave a long fetch across an upper bay of Cupsuptic Lake.  I went into the wind to get to a GPS waypoint.  However, the return was mostly cross wind with serious swells and waves.  I fought (struggled) into and then cross wind and finally made into the sheltered inlet.  I learned a lesson.

Rain each day.

 Will Friday, Saturday and Sunday be dry? Here in the mountains clear skies in the morning are almost always followed by fluffy clouds as noon approaches.

The various forecast centers are together on a dry forecast.

Away from camp and return.

 Our three nights away from camp.

- A pleasant lunch (x3)

- Theater (x4)

- Three appointments.

Shopping to restock and office time to bring books up to date.

Return to empty all four rain gauges. Over three inches of rain.

Now Saturday 6AM rain followed by 7AM clear skies.

Also (x2) and this morning (x1) mice.

A summer kayak paddle and drift!

 Cupsuptic River and Cupsuptic Lake.

I kayak into the bay of the lake and then drift with the wind. Water temperature is now mild. 

Each time I dump out of the kayak I am near the dock. Rarely do I end up on the water without my PFD.
